THE NINTENDO HISTORY BOOK
(the archive book)
In 2015 I was tasked to design a book featuring the artwork of others and showcasing it to the School of Art. I decided to try a different approach to the form of contemporary artwork (opting out of the common political genre used), and focused on taking images of video games and designing a collection of them. The company used in the book is the Japanese electronics and entertainment firm, Nintendo Co. Ltd.
Currently, the book (printed only in three variations) has over 100 pages, featuring stills from video games of all eras. There is a 30 page timeline of the company (stretching back in 1889), quotes of significant figures, concept drawings, history of the games, and a lot of colorful images.
I plans to expand the book series outside of Nintendo, and integrating significant games that have impacted the entertainment and media industry, in the future. Below is a collection of these spreads from the book, as well as images of the printed booklets.
